European Architecture and Landscapes
by Bill Drysdale
25
years' experience as an architectural illustrator enticed Bill to
paint architectural themes in a looser, more expressive way. He is
especially drawn to aging European architecture, the old, textured,
weather-worn structures that have resided there for centuries.
The
images to the left were created when Bill became frustrated with the
precise realism he uses to create architectural renderings.
One day, he decided to go outside and literally splash paint on paper.
He enjoyed it so much, it led to a new style he is still exploring.
He used photos taken by his daughter on a trip to Europe to create
these unbridled, colorful depictions of ruins and the Colusseum in
Rome.
